A New Purse in the Works

Several weeks months ago, I started working on this bag for Fall. It took me a while to finish since other projects had to be finished but here it is. Its currently in testing phase, but I think the actual shape with remain the same. I do want to make the final design slightly bigger to accommodate an iPad or other tablet.
The front. The pocket is functional and the flap attaches with a magnetic snap. The flowers are genuine leather!

The back.

The side. the straps are attached with rings and a rivet.

Inside. The slightly larger style will include a separate iPad/gadget pocket as well as a zippered pocket and two small accessories pockets.
I'd like to make these in corduroy fabrics but I'd love some input on the colors! What do you guys think? Leave a comment on the blog!

New Recipe Favs for August, Pt. 1

August is a hot month and who wants to spend an hour or more standing over a hot stove? Not me that's for sure. Well thanks to this post over at Saving You Dinero I had five days worth of crock-pot meals! I love being able to throw everything in and poof, its all ready at dinner time.

In the original posts, all of the meals were prepped and frozen on the same day so there would be less to do during the week. I forgot to pick up freezer bags when I was shopping though so I just made mine every day.

I have to say I was a bit surprised that every recipe turned out amazing! Usually there is at least one in a set that isn't so great but that cant be said for this group. In fact they were so good, my difficult-to-cook-for boyfriend actually said he could eat the same meals next week too. He's made a request for the honey garlic chicken asap. ;-)

One of my favorites was the beef burritos. I'm used to making them with ground beef or turkey, a pack of sodium filled seasonings, and the usual toppings. Good, but I'd rather have taqueria style burritos than fast food style. Here's my version of the beef burritos in the crock-pot. I am slightly obsessed with turmeric right now so I added that. We also love garlic so I added a lot more of that too. And a can of green chili peppers, since I couldn't find the chipotle chili peppers in adobo sauce (I've since found them for another recipe that I'll share later in Pt.2). Green chili peppers taste good in everything.

Simmering away smelling delish.
I happened to have a lot of calories left over that day since I was too busy to eat a lot, so I kind of pigged out with dinner and had two burritos. They were so yummy I couldn't resist. *blushes*

Mmmmm
I highly recommend these recipes. AND the author is working on another set of five. I cant wait to try those out!
